POP ART RHYMES WITH POP TART.
The heart of this publication is a practice in long-form typesetting, print production, and researching an artistic movement. I collected an arsenal of articles, journals, imagery, and op-eds about influential artists, typefaces, and the cultural significance of the Pop Art Movement. This publication is the amalgamation of curated imagery, text, and design elements. Comic books are kinda my thing so, I wanted to have this publication have the look and feel of a comic book I would've liked to read when I was just a little kid.

Grid System
I was inspired to organize the content of this publication like a comic book, so I used comic book cells and panels as references for the structural grid. I want a variety of layout options, to give it more of an organic comic feel. These are the grid variations I used.

Perspective
Pop Art has a sense of humor. Artists dealing with everyday objects and elevating them to something worth hanging on a museum wall have to have a wicked sense of humor. The nice thing is the public is invited in on the fun.
I have always gravitated TOWARD Pop art because of its colorful, fun, and approachable. Pop art is all about getting people involved in expressing themselves by using everyday items. It presents itself openly and honestly. I like how It does not take itself too seriously and is something that it is not. I am to make work with this perspective in mind.
